An Indian Summer Launches for a Third Year

 

An Indian Summer has arrived for the third year running, the cultural festival marking the heart of India made its stamp on Leicester yesterday.

 

The festival returned to the cultural quarter and well known faces around Leicester were in attendance such as Miss India Worldwide 2013 Nehal Bhogaita and Councillor Manjula Sood officially launched the annual event at the LCB Depot.

 

The festival opens up the diverse colours of India and explores in depth the journey to the heart of India. An Indian Summer brings to life the rich culture of India and commences over 4 days. It celebrates the various traditions of India through workshops, performances and exhibitions within Leicester’s cultural quarter.

 

The riveting colours are captivated through India’s most popular entity, the food. Audiences will get the chance to discover the myths based around the vibrant country from dance, literature, photography to art everybody will get a taste of India.

 

Bipin Anand, the festival organiser expressed his excitement, “This year is completely different from what everybody has seen before, we have completely up the game, the amount of activities, the workshops and the performances that we’ve got this year is going to blow people away.”

 

An Indian Summer takes place from Wednesday 26th June-Sunday 30th June at the Curve, Phoenix Square, Manhattan 34, Chutney Ivy, Exchange Bar, LCB Depot and Ramada Encore.
