Making its first come back in the UK for years, director Paul Kerryson has reproduced the classic musical ‘Gypsy’.
Casting as Mama Rose is Caroline O’ Conner, an award winning actor who has starred in many roles, including West Side Story, Chicago and Sweeney Todd. The story revolves around the famous burlesque dancer Gypsy Rose Lee,and is influenced by her experiences through life.
The musical portrays the perseverance of her mother, Mama Rose, to live the life of fame she always wanted through her two daughters. After its first performance back in 1959 ‘Gypsy’ has come from Broadway to the Curve in Leicester and is now showing until April 15.
