Sunday 15 July saw thousands of visitors from across the city and county come to the Leicester Mela as the city centre was taken over with live Asian music, dance, food, fashion, arts and culture. Spread across Humberstone Gate, Gallowtree Gate and Leicester Market the Mela offered revellers the opportunity to enjoy an authentic slice of South Asian culture.
Gallowtree Gate and High Street were packed full of fun activities such as a climbing tower, a fair ground and games, as well as drum workshops and printing classes taking place and plenty of jewellery and clothes stalls.
There were special guests from India including Rucha Hasabnis and Vishal Singh, who play the characters Rashi and Jigar in the television series Saath Nidhana Saathiya.
