LAST CALL FOR PLATINUM JUBILEE ’70 AT 70′ EVENT

There’s still time for county and city residents celebrating their 70th birthday this year to receive a special invite to a celebratory event as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Mike Kapur, the Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire, will be hosting the ’70 at 70’ garden party on Tuesday, May 31 at Beaumanor Hall, Woodhouse near Loughborough.

Numbers are limited – there are only 70 invitations – and nominations can be submitted by individuals themselves, family, friends or by someone in the community.

The closing date of Friday, April 1 is fast approaching.

The invitations will go out to individuals who live in Leicester city or in the county and who were born in 1952, the same year as Her Majesty the Queen’s accession to the throne.

Mr Kapur said: “We’ve received many nominations so far, and it’s been truly inspiring to read the stories behind those nominations. The closing date to submit your nominations is fast approaching, so now is the time to get them in.”

To make a nomination visit www.leicester.gov.uk/platinum-jubilee , where a full list of criteria can be found.

For support in completing a nomination, contact the Leicestershire Lieutenancy by emailing lieutenancyoffice@leics.gov.uk.

Invitations to the ’70 at 70? event will be sent out in April.
