Leicester Remembers Victims of French Terrorist Attack

Around 150 People gathered in the centre of Leicester yesterday to remember the victims of the French terrorist attacks last week.

 

 

The event was organised by French Student Silvio Verrier and the Leicester Secular Society.

 

President of the Leicester Secular Society, Gush Bhumbra said, “Its important that we mark the attack on our citizens in Europe and also on our liberties of freedom of expression”

 

“Leicester is a very diverse community and everyone here has the right to believe their own faith, and we have to give each other the space to express whatever feelings we have with out impinging on anyone else”

 

The gathering began at two o’clock – an hour after the start of the march in Paris, in which up to a million people attended as well as Prime Minister David Cameron and many other world leaders.
