Brahma Kumaris Centre Opens in Leicester

A new centre in Leicester for the Brahma Kumaris was opened today by Baroness Verma.  Harmony House on Ross Walk is the new home to the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University, UK.  The organisation provides teaching and education in spiritual and moral values and has been established in Leicester since 1973 as a spiritual centre, working alongside other community groups.

Brahma Kumaris are individuals of all ages and backgrounds, who regularly attend classes now offered by a network of organisations in over 100 countries. Their humble beginnings began in a small town house off Melton Road, run by a family who were the first to practice Raja Yoga Meditation. The family’s desire to share their experience, led to them opening up their own home for the study of spiritual values.

The new centre, Harmony House is a purpose built facility which spans over 20,000 square feet in size and is surrounded by open grounds overlooking the River Soar and the National Space Centre. All activities are offered free of charge.

Over 100 active volunteers attended the opening, as well as special guests including Assistant City Mayor Councillor Manjula Sood and Lord Mayor Councillor John Thomas as well as BKWSU members attending from all over the world.

After many years of expansion and community service, the new meditation centre, Harmony House will offers people of all backgrounds an opportunity to awaken their inner power and potential and learn a range of spiritual skills through a variety of educational programmes and special events facilitating self-development and personal change.
