Crowds come together to watch Christ in the Centre on Good Friday

The Christ in the Centre put on its first performance of the day to highlight the story of Easter in Humberstone Gate this morning. Hundreds gathered to watch the adaptation of the existing play called The First Easter written by noted playwright Meg Harper. The stage was set for a cast of 40 to act out the hard to read yet interesting Easter story.

The play is articulated by women who were present at the time. This is an important factor of the play as women were the first ever human beings to see Jesus after his resurrection. The leading character was played by half Nigerian and half Indian actor Nathan Obokoh. The cast closed the show whilst singing prayers and hymns about the Easter story.
