Popular Game of Thrones star, Bella Ramsey, was on hand to open Leicester’s newest ‘pre-loved’ fashion store earlier today, as a lover of sustainable fashion herself.

18-year-old Bella shot to fame after playing the feisty Lady Lyanna Mormont in the sixth, seventh and eighth seasons of the hit HBO show.

The Leicestershire actress cut the ribbon at Leicester’s new White Rose store earlier today (August 12) – a pre loved fashion store which sits in Market Street.

Miss Ramsey is a regular customer at White Rose’s other stores, which are scattered across Nottinghamshire. The brand features quality second-hand designer wear – everything from Zara to Ralph Lauren, and supports the Aegis Trust in its worldwide mission to build long-term peace through education.

She told Pukaar News that she is a big fan of sustainable fashion, and the admirable ethos which sits behind the White Rose brand.

“Peace building is one of the most important aspects of securing a future for the world, especially in more vulnerable communities, so I’m really pleased to be here to support that,” she said.

“Sustainability is a big deal for me, the rate in which clothes are being mass produced, in the ‘fast fashion’ industry, it’s not sustainable. Materials aren’t going to last forever – they will eventually run out, and if we want to secure a future for ourselves then sustainability is the path that we have to take,” she added.

“The climate emergency is something that I think about every day, so it’s really important to me to shop sustainably as part of dealing with that.”

Bella is currently back in Leicestershire after spending a period of time filming in Canada.

She has been cast in the lead role of ‘The Last of Us’ – a new highly anticipated HBO series, which is based on the popular video game of the same name.

Her star is set to rise even further when the show hits screens early next year.

Dominic Carter, communications co-ordinator at White Rose, said that it was “incredible” to have Bella on hand to open the White Rose store.

“She is very much an up and coming actor that is going to go on the huge things, but she’s also someone who’s very much in line with what we’re trying to do here at White Rose as well,” he said.

“She’s very much into the environment and sustainability as well, so to have someone that’s in line with what we’re trying to promote is incredible.”
