LEICESTER CARERS RECOGNISED AT AWARDS CEREMONY

Carers from across Leicester had their hard work celebrated at an awards ceremony last week, which was sponsored by ‘Inspired to Care.’

The Leicestershire Live Care Professional of the Year Awards 2022, took place via a virtual event, which was hosted by ITV weather presenter Emma Jesson.

Sponsored by Inspired to Care, the event was designed to recognise the skills, values, and dedication of care workers across the region.

Winners on the night included Prity Somani, manager of Leicester’s Cherrytree Residential Care Home, who was named ‘Care Leader of the Year.’

In her role, Ms Somani is said to “go above and beyond to improve her residents’ and staff’s quality of life.”

“She ensures everyone is always treated with dignity and care unique to their needs, while maintaining remarkable diligence for the highest standard of care,” said a spokesman for the awards.

Joycee Jose, deputy manager of Leicester’s Langdale House was named as ‘Best Newcomer to Care’ for the impact that his passion has had on the home, which sits in Church Street, Sapcote.

At the event, Luliana Constantin was named as ‘Palliative Care Professional of the Year’ for the work she does as clinical manager at Everdale Grange.

“Luliana’s palliative care expertise was invaluable throughout the pandemic, as was her approachable and comforting personality,” said a spokesman.

“Never more so than the past two years has the workforce demonstrated resilience and devotion to the people they support, and we are proud of all your heroic efforts keeping people safe and well!” said a spokesman for Inspired to Care, who have sponsored the event for the past four years.

“This year we have continued to experience challenges like no other within our sector, but the social care workforce has continued to display resilience and all the values that make them the inspiration they are; going above and beyond, showing empathy & compassion, flexibility & reliability, often putting the people they support before themselves.”
