Leicester Ladies’ Hockey Club Honoured by Leicester’s Lord Mayor

 

The Leicester ladies’ hockey club has been honoured at a civic reception by Leicester’s Lord Mayor, Councillor Abdul Osman.

 

The team nicknamed The Pukkas, recently celebrated wins at both the indoor and national championships.  The club has existed for 118 years, and relies on a dedicated team of volunteers and supporters.  Four members of the club brought home bronze medals for Team GB at the London 2012 Olympic games, they were supposed to be guests of honours at the reception but had to drop out last minute due to Team GB commitments.
