Ninja Warrior park in Leicester falls at opening hurdle

Seen as a place to test your mettle and “ninja skills”, a new indoor adventure park is opening in St George’s retail park this summer. In place of the old Toys “R” Us store, the Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Park was meant to be opening on Sunday 12th June but due to unforeseen circumstances, has had to delay their grand opening by at least a week.

The park is based on ITV’s hit show, Ninja Warrior UK, and provides a number of replica challenges including the famous Ninja Warrior Warped Wall for people looking to really test their skills.

Pukaar News visited this new, and frankly impressive assault course on the planned opening day, and managed to discuss the goals of the team, the benefits of having a place such as this in the city, and of course, the precautions being taken by staff and owners during the pandemic.

General Manager Dean Sayer said: “Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Park Leicester is fresh and attractive to a variation of different age groups. From 2-3 years old all the way up to 60-70 years. So people can bring their grandchildren and still take part in the activities. There’s a range of different activities and if you want to push yourself further, you can take on the more advanced ones, but if you want to just come and have fun, there’s plenty here for just you and your family.”

This new venue is expected to have a fairly positive effect on the city’s economy, providing job opportunities to ambitious and sporting young people. Dean said: “In total we’re talking about 40-50 people that we’re looking to employ here, some full-time and some part-time. I think on the part-time basis, its great for students and parents that can’t work full-time and have the ability to work different hours.”

Ninja Warrior UK Leicester should now be opening at some point over the coming week. Stay tuned to our social media accounts for updates on the new date, and don’t forget to check out the full interview with General Manager Dean Sayer on our YouTube channel.
