POLICE APPEAL FOLLOWING FATAL COLLISION IN WHITWICK

A 72-year-old motorcyclist has died following in a collision in Whitwick yesterday afternoon.

The rider was found injured in Oaks Road around 3.50pm yesterday (Sunday, August 14), by a passer-by. Emergency services attended the scene where he was pronounced deceased.

From initial enquiries it’s believed the 72-year-old rider was travelling on his black Yamaha XVS motorcycle along Oaks Road towards Copt Oak when his vehicle left the road and collided with a wall.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw the motorcycle beforehand. They would also urge anyone who was travelling in the area to check any video recording equipment they have installed in their vehicles for any footage they may have captured.
