Shreya Ghoshal Returns to Leicester for Sold Out concert

The popular young Bollywood playback sensation Shreya Ghoshal, recreated the magic once again at Leicester’s De Montfort Hall, as she returned for another unforgettable evening of music, after last year’s sold-out concert.

 

 

Named as one of the most gifted and successful singers in the history of Indian cinema, Shreya Ghoshal dazzled on stage dressed in neon pink, entering to a huge round of applause, whilst enchanting the audience with a soulful rendition of her hit song ‘Sunn Raha Hai’ from the Bollywood hit film Aashiqui 2.

 

Hailing from Berhampore, West Bengal in India, her musical talent was recognised when she won the ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ contest. Her Bollywood playback singing career began in 2002, when she was launched as a playback singer with the release of the Bollywood movie Devdas’ music.

 

The multi-lingual singing sensation interacted with the audience and had them singing and clapping along to her hit songs including; ‘Zoobi Doobi’, ‘Balma and ‘Chikni Chameli’. The audience were that amazed by her voice, they requested that she sing without any backing music.

 

With a mixture of high energy infused with her soulful voice, the audience were left dancing in their seats, as they were captivated by Shreya’s charming personality and ability to connect with the audience instantly, as she requested to take any song requests.

 

Hrishikesh Ranade, winner of Idea’s ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ Maharashtra Ajacha Awaaj, displayed his versatile talent alongside Ghoshal, as they both performed melodious renditions of nostalgic songs including: ‘Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Mei’ and ‘Tera Bina Zindagi Se Koi Shikwa Nahi’, talking the audience on a golden musical journey.

 

Sonali Samani from London travelled especially to see her perform live in Leicester: “Shreya was amazing, it’s the first time I’m seeing her live and I loved listening to her perform ‘Nagada Sang Dhol”. Nitu Soni from Leicester added: “I have never been to a live concert, so seeing Shreya perform was extra special; she had real emotions in her voice, which gave me Goosebumps especially when she sang “Teri Ore”.

 

Speaking to Pukaar News of her evening’s performance, the singing sensation shared: “Leicester as expected was spectacular, the audience are real good music lovers, who appreciate good music and today was really a memorable evening for all of us, the audience showed so much love by making it a sold out evening, much in advance and we are very humbled and grateful to Leicester”.

 

Rock On Music International Promoter, Vijay Bhola shared: “We are very pleased to bring Shreya Ghoshal back to Leicester to a sold out audience. A big thank you goes out to all of you who made this show successful and we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming shows”.

 

One of the shows supporters Vic Sethi of Anand International and Daewoo International said “my vision of promoting Leicester city by bringing top artists here to perform is working very well, and last night’s show proves it by the number of people who attended from across the country”

 

Near the end of the show Mr Sethi’s daughter presented a bouquet of flowers to Shreya Ghoshal to show the cities appreciation.

 

Shreya Ghoshal’s UK & Europe Tour 2014 continues with a sold out performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London and performances at The NIA in Birmingham, Colston Hall in Bristol and the World forum theatre in Den Haag.
