Coinciding with its 100 years of Bollywood celebration and following on from the success of Shreya Ghosal’s live performance, TLC Events and Rock On Music presents Sunidhi Chauhan live in concert.
Promising to be a “visual and musical treat” part two of the celebrations will see the ‘diva of Bollywood’ bring her 2013 UK tour to Leicester. The concert will see Sunidhi pay tribute to Bollywood singing legends and is set to take place on 20th September at De Montfort Hall.
This will be the first time ever, the award winning Indian vocalist, who has gained a popular reputation for her playback singing, will be performing live in the Midlands
Delhi born Sunidhi expressed an interest in the music industry from the age of four. Her unique voice quickly caught media attention and she went on to take part in and win the reality singing show ‘Meri Awaaz Suno’.
After relocating to Mumbai, Sunidhi’s breakthrough came in 1999 through the Bollywood film Mast, directed by Ram Gopal Verma. Chauhan provided vocals to the film soundtrack and its hit single ‘Ruki Ruki Thi Zindagi’.
Having provided vocals for various international movies including Punjabi, Bengali and Urdu films, Sunidhi has established herself as a leading artist in India and worldwide.
More recently Sunidhi voiced the popular track ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ from the 2010 film Tees Maar Khan, starring Katrina Kaif, with the single remaining high in the charts for seven months.
Sunidhi has lent her vocals to many leading ladies of Bollywood including Kajol in hit movie Fanaa and Madhuri Dixit in Aaja Nachle. Her work in Bollywood has seen her collaborate with established Indian singers such as Udit Narayan and Sukhwinder Singh.
Other work includes a remix of Enrique Inglesia’s ‘Heartbeat’. Sunidhi went on to promote the single on India’s X factor with the single featuring on the Spanish singer’s album ‘Euphoria’.
Sunidhi’s work has not gone unnoticed. The Bollywood singer has received numerous accolades and won the Best Female Playback Singer award at Star Screen and the International Indian film academy (IIFA) on numerous occasions.
Leicester will see Sunidhi bring her U.K tour to the city before her big debut at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London on the 27th September.
