TWILIGHT CHARITY WALK WITH CELEBRITY

Hollyoaks star and heart-throb, Charlie Clapham is giving one lucky lady the chance to walk the first 1km of this year’s LOROS  Twilight Walk with him on Saturday 9th April in Leicester.

The actor, who plays Freddie Roscoe in the popular Channel 4 soap and is also an Ambassador for the Groby Road Hospice, will be Prince Charming at this Saturday’s event which will start and conclude at the King Power Stadium.

People have until Thursday to sign up for the walk. Registration costs £12 until Thursday and sign-up on the day will be £30. One lucky lady will be chosen at random at the end of the week to walk the first 1km of the walk with Charlie.

The 10km twilight walk is a women’s only event and has a fairy-tale princess dress-up theme. Last year the event raised over an outstanding £40,000 for LOROS.

LOROS Hospice is a local charity and every year we care for over 2,500 people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Providing free, high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill adult patients, their family and carers.

Charlie expresses his thoughts on the upcoming event: “I’m buzzing for Saturday’s event, I’ve got my outfit sorted and I’m ready to walk more than 1,000 women around Leicester for LOROS.

“LOROS is such a great place, if people like me can make just that small bit of difference and help the Hospice raise more money then it’s the least I can do.”

The event will be hosted by Gem 106 presenter, Jennie Longdon, with lots more entertainment set to keep participants motivated around the route.

The British Soap Award nominee added: “Let’s bring all of the princesses of Leicestershire together to raise money for our local Hospice.”

An annual balloon release will once again take part at the start of the evening, giving participants the chance to remember their loved ones.

LOROS Fundraising Co-ordinator Laura Fitzsawyer, who is organising the event said: “Nearly 1,000 women have already registered which is brilliant but there’s still time for those wanting to sign-up last minute. We can’t thank Charlie enough for supporting the event, we can’t wait to see what outfit he had put together.”

“The LOROS Twilight Walk is set to be the biggest girl’s night out in Leicester and always one that promises to be a night full of fun and laughter,” added Laura.
