Leicester Royal Infirmary get Extra Parking Spaces

NCP Hospital parkingThanks to a new partnership with NCP, Leicester Royal Infirmary is now able to offer additional parking spaces.

From this Sunday, patients, visitors and primary carers will be able to park in the NCP Welford Road car park (above Bannatyne’s Health Club) at the same cost as parking on site at the Royal.

Information will be displayed around Havelock Street, an area notorious for queues to gain entry the hospital car park. Leaflets and posters will also be distributed around the hospital site to raise awareness among staff, patients and visitors.

Those who wish to park in NCP can enter the car park on Welford Road and collect their ticket from the machine as usual. In order for the hospital rates to apply, they must have their ticket validated at the Royal’s car park office before they leave the hospital.

This new offer applies to the daily, weekly and monthly saver tickets available at the hospital car park.

Travelwise Manager for Leicester’s Hospitals, Ruth Ward said: “We all know that parking at the Royal can be a problem and often involves a period of queuing during peak times. Although the issue cannot be resolved overnight, the Trust hopes that the new partnership with NCP will make it easier for our patients and visitors to find parking from a wider range of options in the local area.

In the long run, we hope that the car park queue will be significantly reduced as people get used to using NCP Welford Road alongside the hospital car park.”

Ian McLaren, Business Manager for NCP added: “We are delighted to announce the new partnership and are extremely proud to work in conjunction with Leicester’s Hospitals.

“We have dedicated staff operating between the Royal Infirmary and NCP to ensure all customers wish.”
