The countdown begins for finalists of the Midlands Food Drink & Hospitality Awards 2019

The Midlands Food Drink & Hospitality Awards (MFDH) is back for its fourth year on Monday, 24th June at Aston Villa Stadium.

The awards, which celebrate the movement of the food, drink and hospitality industry in the Midlands, will highlight a wide range of cuisines across 32 categories including Gastro Pub of the Year, South Asian Restaurant of the Year,  Vegetarian/Vegan Restaurant of the Year and Oriental Restaurant of the Year.

Eight establishments in Leicester have reached the finals of the highly anticipated awards. Restaurants include, Paddy’s Marten Inn on Martin Street, Lilu on Highcross Street and The Lansdowne Pub on London Road.

Judging this year’s shortlisted restaurants is Tony Elvin- general manager at Touchwood Solihull, hospitality professional Adam Andrew Hayes, Tara Tomes- owner and Managing Director at East Village, Marketing & Social Media Manager Lilith Holsey-Sheppard and award-winning chef and food consultant Nitisha Patel.

During the evening guests can enjoy a three-course meal and entertainment from Aston Performing Arts, as well as an after-party with DJ Dan Kelly.

Last year’s winners included; Sapori Restaurant & Bar in Leicester- who bagged Best Italian Restaurant, Best Spanish restaurant went to El Borracho De Oro in Birmingham, and No. 12 Houndsgate in Nottingham walked away with Best Vegetarian Restaurant.

The 2019 awards are sponsored by Pepsi, Swallow, Bootcamp Media, Illy, Adapt Accountancy, Britvic and NA Consulting. Media PR and Marketing Partners include Pukaar News, It Is PR, SixtyNine Degrees and Deluxe Magazine.

Other ambassadors and supporters include Hoot Hospitality, Headz Up Business, Vibrant Networks and Hollywood Monster. This year’s nominated charity partner is Hospitality Action.

The MFDH Awards was born out of the Birmingham Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards which, due to popular demand, was expanded to include the whole of the Midlands’ deserving eateries.
