Around 450 guests from across the region and beyond are expected to attend the glitzy red-carpet event, where they can enjoy a drinks reception, four-course meal and a talk from the highly regarded entrepreneur, Paul Bassi CBE, this year’s keynote speaker.

Celebrating the ‘best of the best’, the awards categories include, Business Start-Up, Entrepreneur of the Year, Community Excellence, Small Business of the Year, International/Enterprise of the Year, Business Person of the Year, Business Woman of the Year, Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion, Promoting Apprenticeships in the Workplace, Customer Service Excellence and Business of the Year.

Mr Johal shares what makes the Nachural Awards stand out from other business awards in the UK: “I think for those who have been to any of our events will see that what’s unique is that we have a very diverse audience, people from all kinds of communities. The event that’s taking place on 27th September at the Maher Centre is also very diverse, not only in terms of how people look but we also have diversity from a geographical perspective.”

Speaking about the impact the awards has had on businesses and entrepreneurs, he said: “I’ve had several businesses say to me that they’ve picked up a lot of business at the event. Quite a few of the businesses have then used the fact that they’ve won an award to then promote and brand themselves. Thirdly, that we’re almost selling out at each event means that something is right about it. People are exploring and finding out about other people and enhancing their own personal and organisational brands, and just generally having a good time.”

This year’s sponsors include Pukaar News, East Midlands Chamber, Rational FX, Diamond, Guest, Vision, Gloss, Cobra Beer, Love Business, Leicester Castle Business School, Leicester Business Festival, and headline sponsor Investec.

The Nachural Group stemmed from Ninder’s passion for music and began as a chart-topping record label over 25 years ago. It has since diversified and developed into a successful production house. As well as The Nachural Entrepreneurship Awards, the company also run The Signature Awards in Birmingham, Nachural Summer Business Ball in Wolverhampton, as well as The Signature Awards in London which will launch in 2020.
