Next week will see the start of a five day fruit and health festival, which aims to educate and demonstrate that a low fat raw vegan diet is optimum for health and well being.

The festival which is the first of its kind in the UK is as much about health as it about fruit with daily Tai Chi, yoga, meditation and exercise classes taught by fitness experts as well as daily lectures by world renown health professionals such as author of the world renown 80/10/10 diet book Dr Douglas Graham.

Dr Graham, a lifetime athlete and 30+ year raw vegan, who has been advising elite athletes and trainers from around the globe says “I have never been happier or healthier than I was once I started eating a diet that was predominated by fruit; I noticed that my health problems vanished, my mental clarity became unimaginably clear”

“my energy soared, I started feeling so good that I wanted to do sport lots more than I ever had and I recovered so quickly from it, but I noticed a streak began and I never got sick for months, years decades, it’s been since 1980 and I’m still not getting sick”

Other speakers include Anne Osbourne originally from Leicester, a 25 year fruitarian, who raised her two children on a raw vegan diet, Chris Kendall a low fat raw vegan chef and Grant Campbell an ultra-marathon trail runner.

The festival which is taking place down in Devon will be attended by over 120 people ranging from experienced raw vegans, people new to the diet and people just interested in learning how to improve their health.   There will be 24 hour fruit buffet including exotic fruits from around the world, evening meals will be prepared by a low fat raw vegan chef, who specialises in creating gourmet meals such as Italian and Mexican style raw foods .

Festival organiser Ronnie Smith from Glasgow says “after organising a small gathering for 30 people last year in Derbyshire, a group of us decided that the UK really needed its own festival to spread the knowledge about this diet and show people that you can live on fruit and really thrive”
